Take the leap: A New Year’s Bhakti Yoga Experience with Mairin McCracken
WHEN: Saturday, Jan 4th 11:45 am - 1:15 pm
COST: $30 members, $40 non-members
Come shake off the holiday season with a sweet, sweaty flow and nourish your heart with song.
Bhakti yoga is known as a devotional practice, sometimes referred to as “yoga of the heart." We’ll use movement, sound and storytelling to drop into the heart, and (hopefully!) begin 2025 with a felt sense of embodiment and belonging. We’ll chant a bit (don’t worry about the sound of your voice! It’s perfect!), breathe and move in community. You'll hear the story behind Hanumanasana (Hanuman's pose, aka the splits), and I'll pepper in a few surprises, too.
The theme of this workshop is as literal as you want it to be.The intention is for you to have the time and space to explore any places in your inner or outer world where you could use a compassionate, loving witness, and where you could use a loving nudge forward- or a big ol' SHOVE. We'll put the question out there, and watch as the answer evolves over time: in the context of this moment, would it mean for you to ‘take the leap?’
You don't need anything except your usual yoga gear. See you on the mat!

I wanna celebrate life.
Don’t you?
I’ve been feeling the weight of being a human being and all of the implications of attempting to do it right. This year when my birthday rolled around I wanted to spend it thrashing around. I wanted have a dance party, which is no surprise, because that’s what I want to do every year.
However, I’m currently in the middle of a lupus flare up and my spine says “No Thanks.”
So here I am on a Tuesday evening on 10/3/24 writing up the description of a memory I want to create in the future.
I think they call this manifesting.
Do you wanna come manifest with me?
Wiggle some feelings out?
Giggle a whole lot?
Have some silly sexy fun?
I need to thump my heart, head and body to some beats.
I’d love to do that with you by my side.
I’m 100% certain this might require some glow in the dark body paint, a little 30min yoga warm up a 45min dance party followed by a cool down.
An organized flow dance party.
Doesn’t that sound magically weird?
Like something you might want to do on Nov 9th
7pm?
You have to wear socks (and also other clothes, don’t come naked, we’re not there yet) and bring a journal.
Thats the only way to party, with warm feet and words on paper.
No we’re not dressing up as the GLOW cast that will be a different workshop.

You may have done breathwork before… but this ain't your mama's breathwork! This method of active conscious circular breathing is scientifically proven to change your blood alkaline by off-boarding Co2 in a certain way. It was developed to simulate a response that is not unlike a psychedelic experience where you can reach a level of altered states of consciousness where the monkey brain and ego turn off. Sound trippy? It is! But it's also super cool and life changing and you are in total control of your trip (we are only using your breath). The benefits of breathwork include, relief of stress, anxiety and depression. Releasing past trauma and limiting beliefs. Balancing hormones and increasing sex drive. Accessing deep rooted creativity and manifestation tools. The class will be about an 75 mins and maybe 15 minutes for decompressing.
Breathwork is very safe! There are currently ZERO reported cases of any injuries from breathwork. That said, if your condition falls into any of the categories below, please consult with your doctor prior to attending a breathwork class.
Contraindications include: Cardiovascular Issues, Epilepsy/Seizure Disorders, Recent Injury or Surgery, Glaucoma, Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure, Osteoporosis, Bipolar, Depression, Severe Mental Illness, History of Aneurysms, Any One Under Age 14, Pregnancy, Asthma (please bring Inhaler).
